Did You Know?

I always wondered why an annual Indianapolis festival that was held around the first day of summer was called the Midsummer Festival. Well, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, Midsummer was so named because it was about 6 weeks after planting and 6 weeks before harvest. So, because the Solstice fell right in the middle of the growing season it was called Midsummer.
